Healing thermomineral water, SPA and Wellness: Kursumlija Spa✓

In Kuršumlijska Banja, there are multiple sources of medicinal thermo-mineral waters, with a temperature range from 14 to 64 °C. The thermo-mineral water used in the medical block of the “Planinka” Hotel and in the pools belongs to the category of highly mineralized, mildly acidic sodium-bicarbonate hyperthermal waters.

According to the Institute, the medicinal thermal waters of Kuršumlijska Banja are considered to be of very high quality, from a balneotherapeutic perspective, due to their favorable anion-cation composition, optimal temperature, and the presence of dissolved hydrogen sulfide. The water is well mineralized, with more than 2 g/l of dissolved solids, and possesses exceptional hyperthermality, allowing it to be cooled to the desired temperatures depending on the indications for use. It contains significant amounts of dominant sodium and bicarbonate ions, as well as carbon dioxide, which contribute to its therapeutic effects, especially in the treatment of rheumatic, neurological, and ischemic peripheral circulation disorders.

Medicinal mud is also used in therapy, prepared by combining it with thermal water. The highly mineralized soil is ground, sieved, and mixed with the medicinal water, and then applied indirectly. The mineral mud has pronounced therapeutic effects and beneficially influences various conditions, contributing to symptom relief and the overall recovery of the body.
