At Kuršumlijska Banja, we offer medical examinations and treatments every day, including weekends and holidays, to ensure that our guests receive the care they need during their stay. Additionally, our hotel provides 24-hour healthcare services for your peace of mind.
Diagnosis
- Examination by a spa doctor
- Ultrasonography of the abdomen and musculoskeletal system
- Ultrasonic measurement of bone density - osteodensitometry
Treatments

Hydrotherapy
- Bathing in pools with thermal mineral water - swimming and relaxation
- Hydrokinesitherapy – pools with thermal water at a temperature of 33°C to 35°C (comfort zone) where a program of exercises is carried out in the presence of a physiotherapist.
- Pearl bath – in addition to the therapeutic properties of thermal water, we also utilize the mechanical effect of hydro massage and the chemical effects of thermal mineral water resulting in a gentle massage of the soft tissue structures, which in turn leads to muscle relaxation, spasm release, and improved circulation.
- Underwater massage – a jet of thermal mineral water is applied with a pulsator under pressure of 1-2 atm, respecting the principle of venous blood flow (from peripheral parts of the body to the heart)
Mud therapy
The mud used for therapy in Kuršumlijska Banja is of inorganic origin and is obtained by mixing medicinal clay with mineral water. Peloid packs, heated to 45°C, are applied to the affected joints and/or part of the spinal column. Peloid therapy can reduce pain, accelerate circulation and metabolic processes, decrease spasms, and improve the elasticity of soft tissue structures such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Electrotherapy
Kuršumlijska Banja offers a range of electrotherapy treatments, including interferential currents, TENS, diadynamic, galvanization, and electrotherapy with different types of impulses and modulations of electric current. These treatments utilize electrical currents to target specific areas and alleviate pain and swelling caused by various conditions.
Magnetotherapy
Especially effective in treating all types of rheumatic conditions, magnetotherapy reduces joint swelling and inflammation, alleviates pain, speeds up wound and bone fracture healing, promotes tissue and cartilage regeneration and renewal, stimulates hormone secretion, relieves muscle spasms, facilitates calcium entry into bones in osteoporosis and after fractures, and boosts local and general immunity.

Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound therapy uses high-frequency sound waves that penetrate up to 3-5 cm deep into the tissues, producing an analgesic effect, and have a warming and mechanical impact (micro-massage of the tissues). It is used in physical therapy for various dysfunctions of soft tissue structures, tendon inflammations, joint bursitis, skeletal muscle spasms, degenerative changes in joints, painful spinal conditions, sprains, and sports injuries.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is effective in reducing pain, inflammation, and swelling while accelerating tissue regeneration. It also promotes the regeneration of bones, peripheral nerves, muscle fibers, and skin, making it particularly useful for sports injuries, slow-healing wounds, and rheumatic diseases. Additionally, it can be utilized as a form of laser acupuncture.

Bioptron Lamp
Reduces pain and inflammation, improves microcirculation, and promotes the healing of wounds. Additionally, the light can stimulate the immune system and encourage regenerative processes in the body.
Tecar therapy
Tecar represents an innovation in the field of thermotherapy. It is a therapy which can significantly reduce the duration of recovery and rehabilitation by stimulating the activation of all natural bodily processes and applying radiofrequency electrical waves that cause a warm reaction in tissues.
Tecar therapy is characterized by a triple action: activates cellular biostimulation, stimulates microcirculation, promotes metabolic hyper actiovation of cells.

Massage
Massage is an effective method for relaxing muscles, improving blood flow and local metabolism, reducing pain, and acting as a muscle relaxant and sedative. It can be applied in different forms, such as classical therapeutic (segmental and full-body massage), relaxation, and reflex massage.
Kinesiotherapy
Kinesiotherapy is a form of therapy that uses movement for therapeutic purposes. It has numerous benefits, including increasing the range of motion in joints, enhancing muscle strength and elasticity, improving circulation, and promoting proper movement patterns and motor activity.

Extension Therapy
Extension Therapy involves the non-surgical stretching of specific parts of the spine using mechanical force. This technique relieves pressure on the spinal discs and creates negative pressure within the disc, leading to the retraction of protruded or herniated discs and reducing pressure on nerves and other structures in the spine. It also improves blood flow in the affected area and accelerates healing of intervertebral discs. During the initial session, a small traction force is used and gradually increased over time. The number of treatments required ranges from 5 sessions onwards depending on the severity of symptoms. Relaxant and analgesic physical modalities are typically used prior to traction as an introduction.
Indications for use include: bulging discs, disc herniation, polydiscopathy, disc degeneration, spondylosis, chronic low back and neck pain syndrome, facet syndrome.
